1.
Start the motorcycle. (

2.
Shift into first gear. (
see
Shift Gears)
3.
Twist the throttle.
4.
Shift gears when appropriate.
1.
Pull clutch lever toward you to put the motorcycle in neutral.
2.
Look for the green neutral indicator to ensure the motorcycle is in neutral.
The motorcycle will stall if the clutch lever is not fully engaged before
shifting gears.
3.
Push down (or pull up) on the gear shift with your left foot, to shift gears.
a.
Push down, with left foot, to shift to a lower gear.
b.
Pull up, with left foot, to shift to a higher gear.
c.
4.
Release clutch lever when desired gear is reached. Repeat gear shift when necessary.
First gear is below neutral (
see
diagram below)
