The XYZ Reality Atom hard hat has been tested and approved by BSI,
conforming to the European standards of EN 397 and EN 166 for health and
safety compliance.
The European Standard EN 397 specifies physical and performance
requirements for industrial safety helmets. The mandatory requirements apply
to helmets for general use in industry. Industrial safety helmets are intended
primarily to provide protection to the wearer against falling objects and
consequential brain injury and skull fracture.
The European Standard EN 166 specifies functional requirements for
various types of personal eye-protectors used against various hazards,
as encountered in industry, laboratories, educational establishments, DIY
activities, etc. which are likely to damage the eye or impair vision, with the
exception of nuclear radiation, X-rays, laser beams and low temperature
infrared (IR) radiation emitted by low temperature sources.
