3.4.2 View a BERT test results log
To run BERT, configure BERT logging and then launch a BERT on an interface, using
bert transmit
and
bert receive
.
Configured without the
verbose
option, the BERT logs the initial sample and then only logs a subsequent sample if the Total
Errors value changes; otherwise it accumulates a count of samples. If you configure the BERT as
verbose
, then a new log
entry is created for each sample, even if Total Errors remains continuously at zero. Test results are visible at the console or in log
files.
In this example, BERT logging is configured as
verbose
, the BERT logging interval is set to 30 seconds, the BERT is launched
on the Client 1 interface using
bert transmit
and
bert receive,
and the current five log entries in the log file are
viewed on the console:
