Phaser 7300 Color Printer Service Manual

Cold Offset - Unfused Image or Image Easily Rubs
off the Paper

The Fuser temperature is set too low for the

media loaded in the tray causing the toner to

not completely fuse on the printed page,
rubbing off easily.

This generally occurs on high-coverage prints.

Troubleshooting Procedure

Step

Inspect the fuser.
Is there dirt, debris, or paper wrapped around
or on the fuser roller?

Replace the
Fuser.

Go to step [2].

Try setting the front panel media type to the

next heaviest

type of paper than that loaded in

the tray.

Did this correct the problem?

Advise customer
on the
appropriate
media type
selection.

Go to step [3].

Perform the ATS 4-Sheet Calibration
procedure.
Did the calibration procedure pass?

Go to step [4].

Perform the
entire
"Automatic
Thickness
Sensor (ATS)
Calibration
Procedure" on
page 4-118

Remove the covers on the Fuser and ensure
the thermistors are in contact with the upper
and lower rollers.

Replace the
Fuser.

Go to step [6].

Use service diagnostics to run a test print and
monitor the Fuser temperature.
Is the temperature within it’s optimal range?

Replace the
Fuser.
