System Administrator Guide

Control Panel Messages

Listed in Table 5.1 are Control Panel messages that either:

• Cause the printer to stop printing.

• Require you to call for service.

Also included in Table 5.1 are common, non-error
messages you are likely to see. The messages are listed in
alphabetical order.

Table 5.1

Control Panel Messages

Message

Explanation/Corrective Action

Clear Paper Path

Part of a sequence of messages following an initial paper jam message.
Remove any jammed paper from the exposed paper path, close covers,
then refer back to the Control Panel for further messages.

Close Front Cvr

The front cover is open. Close it to resume printing.

Close Rear Cvr

The rear cover is open. Close it to resume printing.

Disk Error

Format Disk

Displayed when a Hard Disk error is found. Reformat the disk as per the
instructions for

“Disk Format”

(page 1-109). If the problem persists,

contact your service provider.

Disk Full

When the hard disk is full as a result of a secure or proof job spooling, the
job is canceled and deleted after printing the first copy of the partial job.

Download Failed

Please Reboot

The downloading process has failed and the printer must be rebooted to
recover.

Download Passed

Please Reboot

The downloading process has passed and the printer must be rebooted for
changes to take effect.

Downloading

Please Wait

The printer is in downloading mode. Wait until download completes for
further messages.
