Read this manual carefully before using the device. Installation must be done
by a qualified person. On the last page you will find the technical specifications.
The converters from the HDC series have been specially developed for charging
a second battery from a DC voltage. The charging converter is mounted
between the starter battery and the second accessory battery and ensures
that the fluctuating input voltage supplied by the alternator is converted into a
stable charging process.
Because the charging converter works with a D+ signal, the second battery will
only be charged when the engine is running and the alternator is therefore
present as a power source.
As an extra feature, the HDC converter is also equipped with an internal MPPT
charge controller for connecting a solar panel (max 45Vdc/600Watt). The
accessory battery is also charged via this second 'solar input
’
when the engine
is not running. The HDC converter is therefore a hybrid charging system!
All relevant information about the charging process can be read in the extensive
display.
There are many battery types and brands, each of which has different charging
specifications. For this reason, the charging voltage (output voltage) of the HDC
converter is adjustable. The charging current can also be adjusted. For
example, the converter can be fully adapted to the relevant battery.
Further values such as undervoltage protection (battery monitoring) and restart
voltage can also be personalised.
Important
The HDC converter is only suitable for connecting a battery to the output.
So function as a charge converter and/or charge controller. No consumer
can be connected directly to the output. The converter is not suitable as a
voltage converter.
