If  the  contents  catalog  gets  out  of  synchronization  with  the  actual  tape  cartridge,  the  system  will  put  the 
cartridge  into  a  ‘XenData  Protected’  state.  In  this  case,  the  following  message  will  be  displayed  in  the 
event log. 

 

 

 

This will occur, for example, if additional data has been written to the cartridge using another system.  
 
To correct this problem, 

rebuild the catalog (5.2) 

and 

then select “Check Filesystem’.
