panel covers are attached and secured. This rating means that it meets
standards to prevent dripping water from entering the enclosure, and
causing shock hazard and damage to equipment.
The other possible mounting orientations [shown in Figure 6 (c) and (d)]
will not prevent the entry of dripping water, and are not suitable for marine
or other moist environments without the installation of additional drip
protection. They are only acceptable for use in locations that are always dry.
The environment, therefore, will determine the mounting orientations that
are suitable for each installation. Is the installation environment one that
will always be dry or will moisture or condensation sometimes enter the
area?
ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD
In marine environments, there is a likelihood that condensation will be
present, and may drip on to the charger. Use the appropriate mounting
orientations as shown in Figure 5 and Figure 6.
Failure to follow these instructions will result in death or serious
injury.
