AC Output Neutral Bonding Option (Earth
Relay Function)
The earth relay function allows you to connect the neutral
conductor (N) of the inverter output circuit to the safety earth
(G / PE) automatically when the inverter is working in battery
mode. Refer to local code and standards for more details.
In order to enable the earth relay function, you must install the
bonding screw. Check the regulations for your specific application
to ensure that the installation will comply with the necessary
requirements.
To install the bonding screw:

1. Look for the bonding screw provided inside the bag with the
Owner's Guide.
2. On the left side panel of the unit near the AC and DC
terminal openings, remove the round sticker covering the AC
Out Neutral-to-Earth Bond hole.
3. Using a Phillips torque screwdriver, attach the bonding
screw to the AC Out Neutral-to-Earth Bond hole.
4. Tighten the bonding screw to 0.85 N-m maximum torque.
AC Earthing
As per IEC/EN 62477-1, for all permanently connected
equipment: The Freedom X should be connected to an earthed,
metal, permanent wiring system. Also, make sure that an AC
earth wire is connected to the AC earth terminal on the unit. Do
not just connect the line and neutral wires.
All connections to the unit shall comply with all regulations,
directives, local codes and ordinances.
Residual-Current Circuit Breaker (RCBO)
An RCBO (Type B) is a device that de-energizes a circuit
(disconnects both Line and Neutral conductors) when a current
(AC or DC) to earth exceeds a specified value that is less than
that required to blow the circuit breaker. An RCBO (Type B) is
intended to protect people from electric shocks and are usually
required in wet or damp locations.
Installations in marine and recreational vehicles require RCBO
protection of branch circuits connected to the AC output of the
Freedom X. The RCBO installation shall comply with all
regulations, directives, local codes and ordinances. EU local
requirements may differ and will take precedence.
