Controlling the MX-0816-HDBT using COM CTL PC software
You can also control the matrix via PC using the
COM CTL
software provided on the disk included with your unit. In addition to the
controls found on touch panel display of the matrix itself,
COM CTL
also offers further information on the status of the system and
greater control of settings, including full configuration of the system for optimum performance.

The
Receive Message Window
displays information from
the matrix, such as messages received from the switch
regarding firmware version and output ports.
You can view the condition of all output ports by pressing
the
Output Status button.

Clear message button
deletes the previous received
message.
Input your serial commands for the matrix in the
Send
Message Window
- such as instructions for outputs or to
enter update mode – and click the
Send message button
to send this message to the
MX-0816-HDBT.
Note:
To see the
firmware version
currently used in
the system – power off and repower while the matrix is
connected to COM CTL. The firmware version and creation
date will be displayed together with the normal output state
of the matrix.
Com port state indicates whether the com port is able to
communicate with the switch
Function Buttons
These functions are for the com port only - the 485 port is invalid.
Settings
As on the touch screen display of the matrix, the setting function contains the following:
•
EDID conditions - to specify EDID conditions to encourage device communication. See p.10
•
UTP outputs - this section does not apply to HDBT systems. PRO matrix models only.
•
IR Back setting - Toggles the IR callback on/off. See p.11
•
Long cable mode - Allows selection of Long Cable mode combinations. see p.11
•
Equalization setting - Allows EQ settings to be altered by output port
•
EDID copy details - Allows EDID to be copied to specific inputs from specific outputs.
