Inspection & Setup
3 Point Carrier & Boom:
The 8420 boom and VSB can be mounted on the tractor
3 point hitch with or without a tank. If the boom is not
equipped with a tank, the tractor must be equipped with
front or side mount tanks to supply the boom with spray
solution.
The boom should be delivered setup and ready to mount
to the tractor without further assembly.
Crushing Hazard
To prevent serious injury or death:
Do not stand between sprayer and moving tractor
Stop tractor engine and set brake before installing pins
Mounting 3 pt. Carrier/Boom
Mount the carrier to the tractor 3 point hitch. Connect the
boom hydraulic and pump hydraulic hoses (if equipped)
to tractor hydraulic circuits. Adjust the top link to level the
sprayer when the boom is at spraying height. Move the
tractor to a flat area with sufficient clearance to unfold the
boom.
Spray Trailer & Boom:
The sprayer should be delivered setup and ready to attach
to the tractor without further assembly.
Attach to the tractor drawbar. Make sure that the clip pin is
inserted in the pull pin to prevent the pull pin from coming
out while transporting or spraying. The elliptical tank
sprayer has a height adjustable hitch. Set the hitch so that
the trailer is level when attached to the tractor.
A jack transport mount is available on some trailers which
prevents damage to the jack in very short turns.
