Connect the workpiece lead
▸
Connect the workpiece lead to the vacant –ve
[2]
or +ve
[5]
socket and secure the cable by turning
clockwise.
Connecting the earthing clamp
(Fig. II)
▸
The ground clamp must be located in the im-
mediate vicinity of the welding point so that the
welding current cannot find its own way back via
machine parts, ball bearings or electrical circuits.
▸
Fasten the ground clamp to the welding bench or
workpiece.
Attention!
Do not connect the earthing clamp to the welding
machine or gas cylinder as otherwise the
welding current will run through the PE conductor
connections and destroy them
(see Fig. IV).
Connect the power supply
DANGER!
Danger due to electrical voltage
Â
When working on live components
there is a risk of death due to electric
shock.
¾
The mains voltage and tolerance, and
the fuse rating must correspond to the
technical data.
The machine is suitable for operation with mains
current or with a current generator.
▸
Insert the mains plug into the corresponding plug
socket.
TIG welding method
Connect the welding torch
▸
Connect the torch to the socket
[2]
and secure by
turning clockwise.
▸
Connect the gas line of the torch to the gas
connection
[4]
.
▸
Insert the plug of the torch control lead into the
welding torch button socket
[3]
.
Attention!
Only the control lead of a welding torch may be
connected to the welding torch button socket
[3]
.
Insert the electrode (Fig. IV)
Welding torch
▸
Unscrew the clamping cap
[14]
.
▸
Pull the electrode
[13]
out of the clamping
sleeve
[15]
.
▸
Grind the electrode
[13]
.
▸
Push the electrode
[13]
into the clamping
sleeve
[15]
.
▸
Insert the electrode
[13]
into the welding torch
and screw on the clamping cap
[14]
.
Note
Do not remove the clamping sleeve
housing
[12]
or gas nozzle
[11]
.
Note the following when changing over the welding
torch to a different electrode diameter:
▸
Clamping sleeve
[15]
, clamping sleeve
housing
[12]
and electrode
[13]
must have the
same diameter.
▸
The gas nozzle
[11]
must be adapted to the
electrode diameter.
Connect the workpiece lead
▸
Connect the workpiece lead to the workpiece
lead socket
[5]
and secure the lead by turning the
connector in clockwise direction.
Fasten the earthing clamp
▸
See "Electrode welding method".
Connect the power supply
▸
See "Electrode welding method".
Connect the shielding gas cylinder
(Fig. V)
▸
Secure the shielding gas cylinder
[16]
(e.g. using
a safety chain
[22]
).
▸
Open the gas cylinder valve
[17]
briefly several
times to blow out any dirt particles.
▸
Connect the pressure reducer
[20]
to the
shielding gas cylinder
[16]
.
▸
Connect the shielding gas hose
[21]
to the
pressure reducer
[20]
and open the shielding gas
cylinder
[16]
.
▸
Start the "gas test" and adjust the gas flow rate at
the setting screw
[23]
of the pressure reducer.
▸
The gas flow rate is displayed on the flow
-
meter
[19]
.
