●
Unscrew the cover of the canister and, from the rub-
ber cones supplied, select the cone that fits.
●
Dampen the suction hoses
10
lightly with brake fluid
and slide through the rubber cone selected.
●
Then insert the suction hoses
10
into the canister until
they rest lightly on the bottom of the container. Final-
ly, press the rubber cone firmly into the threaded
neck.
Initial Operation
●
First, the unit must be vented:
1. Do not mount the adapter on the vehicle but con-
nect only to the filler hose
1
and hold over a collect-
ing container.
2. Set the shut-off valve
2
to the «OPEN» position.
3. Switch on the unit (
7
to the «ON» position) and
press and hold the start button
5
.
4. Hold the adapter over the collecting container until
the brake fluid that emerges is bubble-free.
5. With the pump running, uncouple the adapter and
switch off the unit (
7
to the «OFF» position).
6. The unit is now ready for operation also when the
pressure gauge
3
falls to 0 bar. The pressure por-
tion of the unit is bubble-free.
Screw the adapter supplied (Article-No. 0714 55 301)
onto the threads (D 43 mm) of the brake fluid reservoir.
Or mount the adapter that fits in each case (see Adapter
List) according to the instructions on the brake fluid res-
ervoir.
With the adapters
Art.-No. 0714 55 301
and
Art.-No. 0714 55 302
approximately 95 % of all vehicle types are covered.
Accessories illustrated or described are in some cases not in-
cluded with the unit.
The safety instructions in the "For Your Safety" Section
are to be strictly observed.
Before starting to work, observe the notices of the ve-
hicle manufacturer regarding the maximum filler pres-
sure and special working instructions.
At the factory, the pressure regulator
4
is set to a work-
ing pressure of 2 bar. This ensures that the equalising
container will not be deformed and therefore no leak-
age on the secondary collar occurs. The setting of a
lower or higher working pressure for the bleeding or
brake fluid replacement is possible, however.
Work Steps:
1. Connect the filler hose
1
to the already mounted
adapter.
2. Set the shut-off valve
2
to the «OPEN» position.
3. Set the switch
7
to the «ON» position.
4. Press the start button
5
and hold for approx. 5 Sec-
onds.
5. The pump builds up its operating pressure
4
(3.5 bar max.). This can be set to the desired oper-
ating pressure (recommended: 2 bar).
Bleeding Procedure
6. Then open the valves of the wheel brake cylinders
one after the other beginning with the right rear
and ending at the left front brake. Catch the old
brake fluid with a collecting bottle. As soon as the
new, bubble-free brake fluid emerges from the
bleeding opening, the valve can be closed again.
7. Finally, switch off the unit (Switch
7
to the «OFF»
position).
8. The pressureless filler hose
1
can then be uncou-
pled from the adapter (no pressure, no squirting).
