Remote Conﬁ guration and Country Code Conﬁ guration

6.2. Country Code Configuration

Different countries have different requirements for how modems must

function. Therefore, before you use the modem, you must conﬁgure it to match

the defaults of the country in which you are using it.
If you are comfortable using AT commands, you can conﬁgure your modem

using AT commands. You must enter these commands in your communication

program’s terminal window.
To conﬁgure the modem for a speciﬁc country, execute the following AT

commands:

1. Type

AT%T19,0,

(

stands for country code). Press

[Enter]

displayed.

2. Then save the changes by issuing the following command:

AT&F&W

3. To verify that the correct country has been conﬁgured, issue the following

command:

ATI9

4. The country code is then displayed in decimal format.

The following is an example of country, AT commands, and result codes.
