Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting

Before assuming your KG-S84B is defective, please check the following list of possible

problems and solutions.

Problem

Solution

Receive indicator is on but

no sound is heard.

▪

Check volume level.

▪

Disable CTCSS/DCS or be sure setting matches

incoming transmission.

▪

Check squelch settings.

Unwanted interference is

being received

▪

Enable CTCSS or DCS tone to filter out unwanted

transmissions.

▪

Use a different channel

Transceiver transmits with-

out PTT being pressed

Check if the VOX hands-free mode is active. If inten-

tionally using VOX mode, adjust the sensitivity level.

Cannot power on

▪

Check that the battery pack is attached correctly.

▪

Check that the battery pack is fully charged.
