World Class Catamarans

AC PANEL
The AC distribution panel is installed in the galley cabinet near the entrance to the cabin.
This panel houses the circuit breakers for the AC system and its accessories. The panel
also contains a reverse polarity indicator. Reverse polarity occurs when the AC power lead
(black) and the AC grounded lead (white) are reversed. This can destroy appliances and
create the potential for electric shock. Therefore, after attaching the shore power, turn the
“AC MAIN” breaker “ON” first and inspect the reverse polarity indicator. If the LED indica-
tor remains unlit, you can engage the remaining accessory breakers. If the indicator light
turns red, immediately turn “OFF” the “AC MAIN” breaker and disconnect the shore
power. Notify the marina regarding the issue and have a trained electrician inspect your
boat to determine if any damage has been sustained by the electrical system.
REFRIGERATOR
An AC/DC refrigerator is installed in the galley cabinet. The refrigerator is similar to any
dorm style unit, except it can operate from both the AC and DC systems. The unit is hard
wired to the AC panel and will automatically use AC current if it is available, but can oper-
ate off battery power while the “HOUSE” battery switch is in the “ON” position.
MICROWAVE
The microwave is installed on the top of the galley cabinet near the entrance to the cabin.
It operates exactly like a residential unit, and functions only when you are connected to
shore power. The microwave is hard wired to the AC panel, but could be tied into the DC
system through the use of an inverter. Inverters, which change DC voltage to AC voltage
are not supplied by World Class. If you choose to retro-fit an inverter, be certain to choose
one with a minimum output capacity of 850 Watts and have a trained electrician assess
the battery requirements of the inverter.
GFCI RECEPTACLES
Two receptacles are standard in the weekend package, one in the cockpit near the helm
and the other in the cabin under the AC panel. The cockpit outlet is a Ground Fault Cir-
cuit Interrupter (GFCI), which is designed to trip the circuit when the resistance along the
grounded conductor falls beneath 25000 Ohms. This protects you from electric shock, by
stopping the current flow through the receptacle. The cabin outlet is wired in series with
the cockpit outlet to provide fault protection in the cabin as well.
STOVE
A butane stove from Glomate™, is included with the galley package option. It will be
secured in the poly cabinet aft of the refrigerator. Instructions for this unit are also pro-
vided in your “Owner’s Portfolio”.
