This option specifies the
operation mode of
modern IDE / SATA-
controller chipset
[AHCI]
Selecting this option allows
you to take full advantage of
the extended host controller

SATA controller will operate in
a mechanism similar to a
conventional IDE-controller
[RAID]
Allows combining hard drives
in RAID-arrays in order to
improve the reliability of data
storage, or to increase the
speed.
