ƒ
Secure rotating pump components so that direct access to these components is
prevented.
ƒ
Observe the technical regulations for safety equipment!
7.2.5
Machine noise
WARNING
Continuous noise level!
Depending on local conditions, a continuous noise level which causes noise-induced
hearing loss can occur.
ƒ
Provide all operating personnel with the necessary protective equipment (for ex-
ample hearing protection) and take further safety precautions (for example carry out
training sessions, attach warning notices).
The continuous noise level must be measured and monitored at the operating, monit-
oring and maintenance positions.
7.2.6
Structural modifications to the
machine
CAUTION
Property damage caused by the use of non-approved spare parts
Trouble-free pump operation can only be guaranteed when original spare parts are
used. There is no guarantee that third-party parts are designed and manufactured in
accordance with appropriate safety and operational requirements.
ƒ
Only use original spare parts!
The use of other parts will absolve the manufacturer of liability for any con-
sequences arising therefrom.
Always state all data on the pump and motor rating plates when ordering spare parts.
7.2.7
Temperature limits
In the normal operating state, the highest temperatures are to be expected on the sur-
face of the pump housing, on the shaft seal and in the vicinity of the bearings.
If no additional heating is provided, the pump housing surface temperature is equival-
ent to the temperature of the fluid to be conveyed. The temperature is based on the
assumption that there is free contact between the surface and the atmosphere.
The system operator is obliged to observe the specified fluid temperature (operating
temperature) in all cases. The maximum permitted temperature of the fluid is depend-
ent on the respective applicable temperature class and on the heat increase in the
pump.
Specifications concerning the maximum permitted temperature of the
fluid as a function of fluid, mechanical seal, motor speed, required tem-
perature class and pressure can be found in chapter "Authorised operating
conditions".
Considerably higher temperatures can occur if maloperation occurs or there
are malfunctions. Please refer to the information contained in chapter "Notes
on operation".
Mechanical seals can exceed the permissible temperature limits during dry
running. Dry running can not only occur with insufficiently filled sealing
chambers, but also with excessively high percentages of gas in the fluid.
The operation of the pump outside of the permitted operating range can
also lead to dry running.
Check mechanical seals regularly with regard to leakage!

Maintenance instructions
In addition to a number of other factors, the operational reliability and service life of the
pump are also dependent on correct maintenance and repair work.
In addition to the maintenance instructions of the supplementary operating instruc-
tions listed below, the maintenance regulations of the installation and operating in-
structions for the pump series, the motor and the mechanical seal should be observed.
