5 Installation
The pump can operate in vertical or horizontal position (For the horizontal position only
with a cooling pipe).
ATTENTION!
The max. nominal flow 2,6 m³/h has to be respected. For higher nominal
flow is a risk of destruction of the motor.
5.1 Installation
The borehole or pumping station must be in accordance with accepted good practice.
Check that water infeed to the borehole or well is adequate for the capacity of the unit.
The unit is lowered into position using a hoist with a cable and tripod.
To ensure that the unit never runs dry, make sure that even in periods of low water the
water level never falls below the discharge port.
ATTENTION!
For an installation in a borehole larger than 3”, a tank or in horizontal
position. It is essential to install a cooling pipe having an ID of 3” round
the motor to keep it cool (see Fig. 4).
Make sure that the diameter of the cooling pipe inserted into the borehole is constant
and allows the unit to be lowered freely.
Do not lowered the unit on its electrical cable.
Make the electrical connections between the conductors and the motor electrical cable
before lowering the unit.
In its final position, the pump must be suspended at least 0,30 m above the bottom of
the borehole or well (see Fig. 3).
The site data plate must be fixed in the immediate vicinity of the wellhead so that the
characteristics of the installation are always readily available.
Before lowering the insulation resistance of the motor and cable must be measured
several times (Min. 2MW).

Connections to steel threaded pipes : 1“. In cas of flexible pipework, the pump must be
held by a chain / steel cable. The two steel loops on the pump head are to be used for
this.
It is recommended that a non-return valve be fitted on the pressure side of the pump
(between the ascending pipe in the borehole and above ground pipe installation) at the
well head.
A manometer, pressure switch / gauge and a shut-off valve are to be installed at the
head of the borehole / well.
