Remove the driver key from the shaft using pincers if necessary.

DISMANTLING OF BACK COVER
PUMP EQUIPPED WITH SILICIUM CARBIDE LOWER BEARING:
The silicium carbide bearings are composed of a sleeve and a bushing.
The sleeve is driven by a drive sleeve.

Remove the drive sleeve [2400] first.
9.3.3.1
DISMANTLING OF BACK COVER :
-
Remove fastening screws [6577D] from the back cover [1221].
-
Remove the back cover [1221] using a mallet if necessary to take it
apart from the casing.
Silicium carbide bearings have very hard surface but are very
sensitive to shocks. Proceed with care as follows.

Slide out the back cover from the shaft.
The silicium carbide shaft sleeve [3400] may follow the back cover
when taken apart. Make sure it will not fall apart. Risk of damage.

Remove shaft sleeve [3400]
-
Remove the driver key [6734] using pincers if necessary.
Danger from squeeze points. Depending on back cover size it may
be necessary to use slings to lift the cover prior to dismantling.

DISMANTLING OF LOWER BUSHING :

Remove the 2 dog point screws [6570D]

Slide out the lower bushing [3313] from the back cover with
care.
9.3.4.2
OTHER MATERIALS :
-
Press out the bushing with the back cover supported on impeller
side.
Respect the choice of leaning surface on the back cover [1221]
while pressing out the bushing [3313].
9.3.5
DISMANTLING OF COLUM N ON PUMP SIDE
AND INTERMEDIATE COL UMNS :
For pumps designed with only one column, dismantle the casing.
9.3.5.1
DISMANTLING OF COLUM N ON CASING SIDE :
-
Shim under next column.
-
Remove bolts [6577F – 6581F]
-
Remove column on casing side [1340A] using a plastic made mallet
if necessary to separate the flanges.
Danger from squeeze points. Depending column size it may be
necessary to use slings to lift the column prior to dismantling.

Slide out the column from the shaft.
9.3.5.2
REMOVING THE INTERMEDIATE BEARING :
-
if necessary use a screwdriver and a mallet to extract the bearing
housing.
-
Slide the bearing housing [3250] out of the shaft.
-
Press out the bearing [3320], using its casing side as a support face.
-
Repeat this process for next intermediate columns.
9.3.6
DISMANTLING OF THE SHAFT :
Check that lifting device is calibrated to move parts weight. Check
motor weight. It is engraved on motor nameplate.

Attach slings to the motor using lifting eyes or lifting lugs available
on the motor frame.
