WILO SE 03/2016 V06 DIN A4
English SHUTDOWN/DISPOSAL
The specifications for setting the follow-up
time can be found in the operating and mainte-
nance manual of the fitted switchgear.
• The following information should be taken into
consideration when setting the pump run‑time:
• The pump run‑time should not exceed 18 sec-
onds.
These values must not be exceeded because
otherwise the system will be operating outside
the permissible range.
BEWARE of material damage!
Depending on structural conditions and the
laying of the discharge pipeline, there is a
possibility of pressure shocks, which could
damage or destroy the facility and/or the
pressure pipeline! In this case, we recommend
the use of a non-return valve with additional
counterweight.
6.5.3. Automatic mode
The lifting unit operates in automatic mode by
default and is switched on and off using the inte-
grated level control.
1. Switch on the lifting unit: insert the plug into the
socket.
2. Check the switchgear's operating mode. The
switchgear should be in automatic mode.
3. The unit now runs in automatic mode.
BEWARE of burns!
The motor housing can reach temperatures
well in excess of 40 °C during operation. There
is a risk of burns! Never touch the motor
housing during operation, and even when at a
standstill.
6.5.4. Manual operation
The lifting unit can also be switched on manu-
ally for a short test run or to drain the collection
reservoir manually in an emergency.
The exact description for setting the manual
operation can be found in the operating and
maintenance manual of the fitted switchgear.
BEWARE of overload!
The lifting unit is only approved for inter-
mittent operation (S3). Continuous duty can
overload the motor and damage it. Manual
operation is not allowed to continue for more
than 18 seconds. After that, there must be a
rest period of 102 seconds.
6.6. Emergency operation
In the event of a failure of the unit, there are
various possibilities for providing emergency
operation.
DANGER due to toxic substances!
During emergency operation, there is poten-
tial for contact with fluids that represent a
health hazard. The following points must be
observed without fail:
• Wear appropriate full-body protection as well
as protective goggles and mouth protection.
• After use, the diaphragm hand pump as well
as the hoses used (in flexible installation)
must be flushed through with clean water and
disinfected.
• If the lifting unit overflows, the unit and
the operating space as well as all flooded
components must be thoroughly cleaned and
disinfected.
• Immediately wipe up drips.
• Channel the flushing water into the sewer
system at suitable points!
• The protective clothing and cleaning cloths
must be disposed in accordance with waste
code TA 524 02 and EC Directive 91/689/EEC
or with local directives.
6.6.1. Overflow of the lifting unit
The lifting unit is overflow‑proof, and can contin-
ue to be operated even in overflowed condition.
The following limit values must not be exceeded:
• Max. flooding height: 2 mWS
• Max. flooding time: 7 days.
NOTE
The mounted switchgear is not overflow‑proof.
To ensure operation of the unit even in the
event of an overflow, the electrical connections
must be installed at a suitably high level!
6.6.2. Level control defective
If the level control is defective, the collection
reservoir can be emptied in manual operation.
For information about this, refer to the “Manual
operation” section.
6.6.3. Failure of the lifting unit
If the lifting unit fails completely, the sewage in
the collection reservoir can be pumped into the
pressure pipe using the diaphragm hand pump.
1. Close the gate valve in the inlet.
2. Close the gate valve in the pressure pipe.
3. Pump the fluid out of the collection reservoir
into the pressure pipe using the diaphragm hand
pump. Also observe the operating instructions for
the diaphragm hand pump.
7. Shutdown/disposal
• All work must be carried out with the greatest
care.
• Proper protective clothing is to be worn.
• When working in pump chambers, it is essential
to comply with the corresponding local protective
measures. A second person must be present for
safety reasons.
