Tips
• Dampen the coffee filter in order to remove any unwanted taste prior to brewing.
• Always use fresh coffee. You will obtain the best results if the coffee you use is freshly
ground.
• By all means use one of our coffee grinders suitable for grinding filter coffee. Using dif-
ferent degrees of grinding will affect the coffee’s extraction time.
• Use a separate jug to fill the water tank with water. Do not use the glass jug, since this
may contain traces of coffee.
• The enclosed filter holder has a manual drip stop. Wilfa does not recommend serving
coffee before the filter process is completed, since this will diminish the final coffee
result.
• If even hotter coffee is desired, the glass jug and be rinsed with hot water prior to brew-
ing. This is recommended if you are making 0.5 litres of coffee or less.
• If the coffee machine has not been used for a while, filtering clean, cold water through
the unit prior to using it is recommended.
Cleaning
• Use a detergent intended for use in coffee machines and filter through the unit. Re-
member to filter clean water through the unit after the cleaning process. If additional
cleaning is required, allow the detergent to stand in the unit by switching off the coffee
machine with the detergent in it. Then allow the process to continue after a couple of
hours.
• If necessary, the unit can be cleaned externally using a clean, damp cloth.
• The filter holder, glass jug and lid can be washed in hot soapy water or washed in the
top level of a dishwasher.
• Never wash other parts of the coffee brewer in a dishwasher.
• Never use strong detergents, scouring powder, steel wool or other abrasives on any
part of the coffee brewer.
• Descaling should be performed as needed. Use a commercially available descaling
agent.
