Special safety instructions for this unit
• The unit must only be filled with cold, clean water.
• Pull out the plug when the unit is not in use.
• Only use original spare parts.
• Never use the glass jug on hotplates or in a microwave oven.
• Always remove the plug from the power socket prior to cleaning.
Electrical connection
Check that the voltage where you shall use the unit is the same as that specified on the unit.
Details can be found on the label on the unit’s base plate.
When using the unit for the first time
Please run cold water through the unit without using a coffee filter or coffee prior to using
the unit for the first time.
Operation
Place the Wilfa CLASSIC on a flat surface. Plug the power cord into the socket.
Fill the water tank with cold water to the desired amount. Place a filter paper (1x4) in the
filter holder. Place the recommended amount of coffee into the filter.
We recommend that you use filter ground coffee, 60 g per litre of water. Experiment with the
quantities for the first few uses until you find out how much coffee you think is best.
We also recommend that you use our Wilfa scale with 1 g intervals for best results.
Place the filter holder in the bracket and twist to the left to lock into position.
Press the start/stop button, which will then light up, in order to start the filter process.
When the filter process is complete, the unit will switch over to the “keep warm” position for
up to 40 minutes. The start/stop button will remain lit during this time. The coffee should be
served fresh. Switch off the coffee machine by pressing the start/stop button when you have
finished using the unit.
