Using
Before first Use
Unpack the wood engraver and check it for any damage in transit. Dispose of
packaging materials or store it out of reach of children. Plastic bags etc. may
become a deadly toy for children.
Using
1. First set up the metal holder (5) provided by bending up the internal tab
gently, to create a stand. The hot engraver should always be placed on
the holder during pauses in operation. Select an engraving tip (1) and
screw it on the engraving tip collet (2).
2. Rest the wood engraver on the metal holder and plug the power plug into
the wall socket. Wait for about 2 - 3 minutes until the heating element
reaches working temperature. Test whether the required temperature has
been reached using a test board or similar sample.
A slight discolouration of the engraving tip and of the heating element
following the first use of the wood engraver is normal and does not present
a reduction of the quality of the components.
3. To use, hold the wood engraver like an ink pen with the finger on the
rubber protection sleeve (3). Now you can start your work and let your
creativity flow! To change the engraving tip during operation use a suitable
pair of pliers (e. g. general-purpose pliers or pipe-pliers) and place the hot
tip onto a heat resistant rack or into a bowl to cool.
4. When you have finished the engraving session, place the wood engraver
onto the holder and disconnect the power cord from the socket. Do not
unplug the plug from the socket by pulling the power cord, always grasp
the power plug. Allow the wood engraver to cool completely before storing
it.
Cleaning and Storing
Always disconnect the plug from the power source and allow the unit to
cool completely before cleaning it!
Never immerse the wood engraver in water or other liquids!
After each session, clean the engraving tips that you used with a brass
brush, sand paper or similar.
Wipe the housing with a slightly moist cloth and allow the unit to dry
completely before the next use. Do not use aggressive chemicals or
solvents to clean the unit.
