4.10 Operating the Dumper Mechanism
Follow all warnings and steps outlined below when operating the dumper mechanism.
WARNING:
•
Check that there are no obstructions in the path of the dumper mechanism before raising or
lowering the dumper bucket.
•
Keep body parts and clothing away from all moving parts of the dumper mechanism.
•
Never position any part of your body in the path of the dumper mechanism.
•
Never position any body parts or objects underneath the dumper bucket when the bucket is
raised unless the safety prop is in place. See section 5.2 - How to Use the Safety Prop for
instructions.
•
Do not raise or lower the dumper bucket while the vehicle is in motion.
•
The dumper bucket must be in the fully lowered position when the vehicle is in motion.
•
Beware of pinch points in or near the dumper mechanism and frame.
•
Before raising the dumper bucket, ensure there is sufficient clearance. A height clearance of 126
inches is required to fully raise the bucket.
•
Avoid operating the dumper mechanism multiple times or for extended periods while the motor is
not running. This may drain the battery resulting in the dumper mechanism operating improperly.
The dumper mechanism is controlled by the lift control pad. The lift control pad is mounted to the cab
wrapper, beside the frame post, outside the left rear corner of the cab.
4.10.1 Raising the Dumper Bucket
To raise the dumper bucket, follow the steps below:
1.
Check that there is sufficient clearance to
raise the bucket and that there are no
obstructions in the path of the dumper
mechanism. A height clearance of 126 inches
is required to fully raise the bucket.
2.
Press and hold the up button until the bucket
is fully raised or the bucket reaches the
desired position.
4.10.2 Lowering the Dumper Bucket
To lower the dumper bucket, follow the steps below:
1.
Check that there are no obstructions in the
path of the dumper mechanism.
2.
Press and hold the down button until the
bucket is fully lowered or the bucket reaches
the desired position.
