1.  Clean out excess grain from auger tube, boot, and hopper.
2.  Make sure water can drain from the auger tube and hopper and then wash 

the tube with a water hose or pressure washer until all dirt, mud, debris, or 
residue is gone.

3.  Provide sufficient time for the water to drain from the auger.

With a tire pressure gauge, check each tire to make sure it is between 18–24 psi 
(124 - 165 kPa). Ensure tires are cold prior to checking pressure.

1.  Remove the wheel bolts and the wheels.
2.  Remove the wheel bearing and pack with grease. Refer to page 106 for 

recommended grease.

1. Clean wheel and hub mounting 

surfaces to ensure there is no rust or 
debris.

2. Install the wheel and finger-tighten the 

wheel bolts. Inspect to make sure the 
wheel is sitting flush with the hub.

3. Tighten the wheel bolts with a torque 

wrench to 80 ft-lb (±10 ft-lb) of torque.

Tighten the wheel bolts in a diagonal 
pattern as shown in Figure 7.9.

The cables are properly tightened when:

• There is no slack in the cables.
• The discharge end is deflected sightly upwards.
• The tube is straight side-to-side.
