Initial Setup and Operation
Intended Use
The battery protector is designed to protect your battery from
being deeply drained by consumers connected to the cigarette
lighter or the 12 V / DC socket. The battery protector is inter-
posed between the socket and the 12 V / DC consumer. If the
battery voltage drops under 11.2 V (± 0.3 V), the battery protector
cuts the connection between the consumer and the battery and
protects the battery from further drain.
Using
1. While the consumer is turned off, connect it to the socket (1)
of the battery protector.
2. Insert the plug (4) of the battery protector into the 12 V / DC
socket or the cigarette lighter.
3. Turn on the consumer. Make sure the maximal current
capacity of 8 Ampere is not exceeded. The maximal breaking
capacity at 8 Ampere and 12 V / DC is 96 W.
The green “READY” LED lights up at a voltage of over 11.2 V
(± 0.3 V).
If the voltage drops under 11.2 V, the red “V. LOW” LED lights
up and the battery protector cuts the connection to the con-
sumer.
If the voltage rises to over 12.5 V (± 0.3 V) the connection is
re-established and the green “READY” LED lights up.
The battery protector is equipped with an 8 Ampere overload
and short-circuit fuse in the plug.
Please observe the instructions of the battery manufacturer
when connecting external consumers. The point, at which the
connection to the external consumer is broken, depends on
the charging state and the condition (age, acid level, terminal
condition) of the battery.
