Taking Measurements
To measure the current, break the circuit to be measured and
connect the probes in series to the circuit.
Procedure
1. Connect the red probe to the “mA/µA/BATT1.5V“ input (10) or
to the 10 A input (11) and the black probe to COM input (6).
2. Set the rotary function switch (4) to the corresponding position
“200 µA“, “2 mA“, “20 mA“, “200 mA“ or “10 A“.
3. After turning the unit on the display shows “000“.
4. Break the circuit after the circuitry or component has been
disconnected from all power sources. Place the probes in
series to the consumer or the circuitry you intend to measure.
When measuring DC current, observe correct polarity if pos-
sible (Red to Plus and Black to Minus).
5. Now reconnect the circuitry to the power source.
6. Now the result can be read from the LC display (1). If a
negative current is measured, a minus symbol is displayed to
the left of the result. If necessary, correct the polarity by
changing the probes on the circuit or on the component.
Hints
If you cannot estimate the current to be expected, always start
measuring in the 10 A range.
If the measuring rate is exceeded, the display will show the
overload symbol “1“.
Resistance Measurement
Ω
Important Notice!
Do not perform resistance measurements on voltage-carrying
components or circuits.
Never connect the probes to a power source when conducting
resistance measurements; this may destroy the unit.
