PHOTOVOLTAIC CHARGE CONTROLLER SECTION
Leonardo Off-Grid 1kW/1500/24 GE is equipped with
PV charge controller with 4 independent MPPT inputs:
is a charge
controller for photovoltaic modules for lead electrochemical batteries of the OPzV or OPzS type.
For the correct recognition of the battery voltage performed at power up, it accordingly sets the appropriate charging
parameters as described in
Tab.1
.

Choice of the PV module
When choosing the configuration of the string of modules to be used in the system, it is necessary to strictly follow the
indications in the following table.
Thanks to the presence of the charge controller with MPPT charging circuit, the modules can be connected on
two
independent inputs in order to ensure the best use of the whole power.

The voltage levels that the controller imposes on the Vch, Vfloat of the battery are always referred to the nominal
temperature of 25° C. As the temperature changes, the voltages imposed by the controller also vary, as
recommended by the battery manufacturers; decreases by -48mV /°C for each increase of one degree of
temperature. The charge parameters shown in
Pic.7 , with factory defaults for OPzV OPzS batteries and nominal
voltage of 24V, equal to Vch = 28.8V and Vfloat = 27.6V.
