3.
Holding the RMM as shown (demonstrator is right handed, it may be easier for a lefthander
to orient it oppositely), pull
GENTLY
with the right hand while using left thumb to assist in
sliding the top and bottom halves of the RMM apart. Separate the two halves
JUST
ENOUGH
to clear the alignment tabs (it may be easier to use a very small screwdriver to pry
the two halves slightly apart) and then tilt the top half (the half in right hand of
demonstrator) down away from you so that the top half alignment tabs are tilting away
from the bottom half (towards the demonstrator) so as not to damage the components
inside the RMM.
If the top half is pulled
apart from the bottom without using this tilting
technique, very good chance of damage to the unit (the top half will drag across the
bottom half and cause damage).
Do this to both the
defective and replacement RMM as it
will aid when installing the SIM card in the replacement unit (this will keep you from having
to set it down and possibly lose or damage the SIM, it can be removed from the defective
RMM and installed directly in the replacement RMM if both units have their top and bottom
covers separated). Make sure to install the top of the replacement RMM on the
replacement bottom and vice versa. I would leave the defective unit apart until the
replacement unit is tested to avoid confusion.
