BoSS X-Series
Maintenance Manual
We continually improve our machines based on
customer feedback, regulatory requirements, changes in
standards and technological innovation.
Machines with earlier serial numbers than those detailed
below differ from the machines covered earlier in this
Maintenance Manual.
BoSS X3X – YMG 32001
BoSS X3 – YMG 12001
BoSS X2 – YMG 22001
These earlier machines differ as follows:
For BoSS X3X, X3 and
X2 the storage for the
charging cables and
guardrail tools is in the
form of a small drawer
under the step up to the
platform.

The main frame of the entry gate to the platform is
wider. The width has been reduced on later models to
avoid trapping of hands in the hinge of the gate as it
closes.
As a result, we no longer supply the right guardrail
and gate assembly with a wide gate.
Please find the codes for the right guardrail and
narrow gate assemblies below.

The Emergency Lowering procedure operated
differently on earlier models as follows:
STEP 1
Turn the finger screw on
the valve on the hydraulic cylinder
anticlockwise until it will not turn any
further as shown in Figure 1 opposite.
STEP 2
Turn the finger screw on the
power pack emergency descent valve
anticlockwise until it will not turn any
further, as shown in Figure 2 opposite.
The platform will now lower safely.
WARNINGS
1 .
ALWAYS
ensure that someone at ground level ie other
than the operator, is trained to perform this procedure .

BoSS X3X only: The step up to the platform is not
detachable on earlier models. The detachable step
was introduced in order to shorten the stowed length
of the machine for transport.
Label variations on earlier BoSS X-Series
machines
These 4 label variations are as follows:
The label in Figure 1 is adhered to the pressure loss
valve cover on the hydraulic cylinder.
The label in Figure 2 is adhered to the charging cable
drawer under the step up to the platform.
The label in Figure 3 is adhered above the battery
charging cable connection point.
The label in Figure 4 is adhered to the chassis back
plate to the left of the red emergency descent and
check valve cover.
