Section 11 - Overload calibration procedure
In the event of any repairs being undertaken to the
hydraulic circuit of the BoSS X-Series machine, please
undertake the following overload calibration procedure:
1.
Ensure the machine is fully charged.
2.
Position the machine on a solid floor with the swivel
castors locked.
3.
Ensure the platform is lowered.
4.
Add cardboard, bubble wrap or equivalent
lightweight material to the floor of the platform to
guard against damage.
5.
Load the platform with 240kg of calibrated weights
and spread evenly across the floor of the platform.
6.
Open the chassis drawer.
7.
Switch on the machine.
8.
Press the ‘UP’ button on the handset controller
to raise the platform to full height. If the platform
cannot raise make a slight adjustment to the
pressure sensor in the chassis drawer (see Figure 1
below) and try again. Repeat this process until the
platform can raise to full height and lower smoothly
to the rest position.
9.
Add an additional 48kg of calibrated weights to the
platform.
10.
Press the ‘UP’ button on the handset controller and
ensure the platform cannot raise and that the red
OVERLOAD LED on top of the handset controller is
flashing (see Figure 2 opposite). If the platform can
still raise then slightly adjust the pressure sensor
(see Figure 1 above). Repeat this process until
the platform cannot raise and the red LED on the
handset flashes.
11.
Remove the weights from the platform.
12.
Close the chassis drawer and lock in the closed
position with the star head drawer closer bolt.
13.
The overload calibration procedure is now
complete.
WARNINGS
1 . If the calibration procedure above is not undertaken
correctly, the overload safety feature will not operate
as intended, which could result in the serious injury
or death of any subsequent operator of the BoSS
X-Series machine .
2 .
NEVER
undertake this procedure when the BoSS
X-Series machine is on charge .
3 . It is strongly recommended that this calibration
procedure be undertaken by two maintenance
engineers .
4 .
ALWAYS
undertake a risk assessment .
