NOTE:
The side panels have a notch in the bottom front corner, and a groove in the rear to receive the back panel.
1. If Individual Compartment Doors (wood or grille) will be installed:
a.
Lay the side and center panels (#22 and 23) flat.
For a left side hinge, lay with the left surface up. For a right side hinge, lay with the right surface up.
b.
See Detail A.
Use a plastic mallet to pound 8-32 screw inserts (#10 oyster) into the holes located approximately

" and

" from the front edge of each of the left and center panels (six holes per compartment) for left side hinges,
or right and center panels for right side hinges. The inserts will be used later for hinge screws. See page 67.
c.
See Detail B.
For a left side hinge, turn the center and right panels over so their right surface is up. For a right side hinge, turn the
center and left panels over so their left surface is up. Pound 8-32 screw inserts (#10 oyster) into the holes (one pair per compartment)
located 1

" from the front edge of each of these panels. The inserts will be used later for the door striker plate screws. See page 67.
2.
See Detail C.
Turn the side panels so their inside surface is up. Install shelf clips (#17) into the inside surface of both side panels and
both sides of the center panels.
NOTE:
The panels are large and hard to keep aligned when you attach them together with screws. Because of this, in several of
the following steps you will be told to “peg” the parts first by inserting wood dowels (#6). These dowels fit snugly into existing
5

"-diameter holes in the panels, and may have to be tapped into place.
3. Insert wood dowels into the side edges of the top panel (#20), the top edge and notch of the center panels, and the backside of the
front stretcher panel (#25).

4. Turn the side panels on edge, with their front edges down. With the wood dowels, peg the side panels to the top panel. Then attach
the side panels to the side edges of the top panel with 2" hex-socket screws (#2 oyster). Tighten the screws using the allen wrench
or bit packed with these instructions.
5. Peg the center panels to the top panel, peg the closure panel (#26) to the center panels, and peg the inside rear stretcher panel (#78)
to the inside of the side panels in front of the groove along the cabinet back (about halfway down). Attach the center panels to the
top panel with 2" hex-socket screws (#2 oyster). Do not attach the closure panel or the inside rear stretcher panel with screws yet.
6.
See Detail D.
Refer to detail to determine the bottom of the back panel assembly.
7.
See Detail E
.
Hold the back panel so the two rear stretcher panels are up, and slide it into the groove on the side and top panels.
8. Align and clamp the filler panel (#75) with the closure panel (#26) so the predrilled holes in the filler panel face the closure
panel. Both panels should be flush along all edges.
NOTE:
The filler panel (#75) is not used on cabinets with a full-length cabinet door installed.
9. Attach the panels together by inserting four flat-head screws (#77) in to the pre-drilled holes from the back side of the closure
panel (inside of the cabinet) until the heads of the screws are nearly flush with the back surface and the filler panel is tight
against the closure panel.
10. Attach the closure panel, the two outside rear stretcher panels, and the inside rear stretcher panel to the side panels, using 2" hex-socket
screws (#2 oyster).
11. Peg the cross stretcher panel to the bottom rear stretcher panel, then peg the front stretcher panel to it. Peg the front stretcher panel
to the notch in the side panels.
12. Turn the cabinet face-up, and check that it is square.

13. To protect corners and edges while moving the cabinet into place, push or hammer plastic tack glides (#13, not shown) into the
bottom edge of the side panels, about 2" from the corners.
14. Attach the front stretcher panel to the notch in the side panels. Insert the wood dowels (#6) into the holes in the side panels.
15.
See Detail F.
Using

" pan-head screws (#4), attach leveler brackets (#16) to the inside of the side panels. Attach the other
edge of the brackets to the front or rear stretcher panel.
After the brackets are attached, screw the levelers in so the plastic glides extend slightly further than the bottom of the levelers.
