7.5 WCM-COM settings
Specific settings for communication and applications are configured and/or displayed in
the main menu point “WCM-COM”.
7.5.1 Network settings
Depending on the existing network or connection settings, various settings relative to the
network must be made.
▶ The setting Automatic (Standard) or Manual should be selected as IP mode

Automatic: The WCM-COM obtains a free IP address suitable for the network
connected, which also supports this function (DHCP)

Manual: For manually administered networks it may be necessary to assign a
particular IP address, a subnet and a Gateway. These are entered into subjacent
fields
▶ The Internet access currently selected is displayed for information. Standard access is
via network (LAN).
▶ The entry for “Device Name” (Standard: WCM-COM) is equal to the name under
which the WCM-COM is called up in the browser if connected directly or via local
network (see Ch.6)

The MAC address is the unique identification address of the WCM-COM in networks.
For integration into existing (local) networks, the activation of the device using its
MAC address may be required. This is factory assigned to the device and cannot be
changed
The changed settings concerning the network will only take effect after a restart of the
WCM-COM.
7.5.2 Addresses
System
The WCM-COM has specific, selectable system text (for example Owner, Address,
System Number, Abbreviated Description, etc.) for each heating system.
This text is part of each message, for identification and easy assignment of the relevant
message.
Recipient
An address book with five possible recipients is managed in the WCM-COM. The
selection of the type of transmission with which a recipient is informed (email), is also
made there.

area.
