When engine
runs normally,
voltmeter
indicates
charging, with
its needle
wobbling, and
it is impossible
to identify its
reading (or
charging
indicator comes
on and goes out
repeatedly).
a. Alternator and related belt is loose, belt
slippage.
Tension alternator and related belt.
b. The joints of charging circuit get loose
causing bad connection
Inspect all connections of charging circuit.
c. Dirt accumulation at slip ring, excessive
wear of electric brush, or brush spring is
weak or broken
Remove dirt, or replace electric brush and its spring.
d. Regulator damaged.
Replace the regulator.

a. Deformed alternator mounting bracket
or getting too close with external engine
body
Improve the mounting bracket strength and adjust
mounting condition.
b. Alternator belt is loose causing slipping Replace the alternator belt.
c. Loose alternator pulley
Tighten pulley
d. Alternator bearing oil shortage or
damaged
Replace the alternator bearing
e. Muffled noise from the inside of
alternator
Stator coil is short circuited, and should be replaced.
f. Whistle noise from alternator changing
with speed.
It is a noise produced by vibration of stator core
vibration, and replace stator assembly if necessary.
