Dip Switches
The use of the four DIP switches is shown in the following table:

Test Mode. UP:INACTIVE, DOWN:ACTIVE. While in test mode, the unit
pulses 831 Hz tones out each audio output. The tones are ON for 1 second,
OFF for 1 second, …. Also, a gray scale is output for video.

LNB Power. UP: OFF, DOWN: ON.
Not under software control.

SERIAL PORTS
The UNITY4000 contains two serial ports. Any of four “devices” may be assigned to either
serial port, though higher-speed processes should prefer port 1 because it has more buffering.
Also, any device may only be assigned once, with the additional restriction that if either the
terminal or modem is assigned, the other cannot. Communication is fixed at 1 stop bit and 8 data
bits, and there is no handshaking. The serial port’s behavior for each of its device types is shown
in the following table.
