7. Initial Start
A/C System:
66. Recharge the vehicle per the manufacturer’s procedures using the chart below:

Lubricant Manufacturer’s specification 4 ounces
Refrigerant Manufacturer’s specification 2.1 lbs.

NOTE: The new refrigerant label should cover the existing label to prevent confusion during service.
67. Place the new refrigerant label to the radiator core support (28).
Coolant System:
NOTE: The use of a vacuum-fill system is preferable.
68. Start the engine and monitor the coolant level, add as necessary. Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s
recommendation for coolant type.
NOTE: The A/C button must be OFF for the pump to activate.
69. Turn the London blower on and request maximum heat.
a. The coolant pump will turn on and coolant will begin to flow through the heat exchanger.
70. Using both the bleeder valve on the London unit and the vehicle’s coolant overflow cap, release trapped air
from the system.

71. After all the air has been removed from the system, fill the reservoir to the proper level.
72. While monitoring the system for leaks, allow the vehicle to idle until the engine reaches normal operating
temperature.
73. Allow the vehicle to cool to a safe level.

74. Pressure test the coolant system per manufacturer’s instructions and inspect for leaks.
75. If the vehicle is equipped with an
overhead package divider, source
the appropriate length self-tapping
screws and attach the divider to the
overhead brace.
76. Reinstall all interior panels and components that were removed unless otherwise instructed in this manual.
