Alignment of the P2T to the BLM
4 Check the side-to-side
alignment of the P2T
to the BLM. See Figure 4:15.
• Put a strip of masking tape along the top of
the outfeed cover on the BLM.
• Make 20-page, A4P books.
• Observe where the books leave the outfeed
of the BLM. Use a pen or pencil to mark the
near side position on the masking tape.
• Put a test book against this mark and use a
pen or pencil to mark the farside position.
• Measure the distance from each of these
marks to the end of the outfeed cover. The
measurements must be the same.
• If the measurements are different, then use a
different hole in the pivot location bracket to
move the P2T in the needed direction. The
holes are at a 7.5 mm pitch.
• For example: If the distance A is greater than
distance B, then use a hole nearer to the
rear of the BLM. See
Figure 4:15.
• Check and adjust until correct.
5 When the alignment is
correct, rotate the P2T
into the operating
position and engage
the docking latch. The docking latch will operate with a positive
‘click’.
6 If needed, fit the PBS/
P2T pivot bracket. See Section 4.4 - Fit the PBS/P2T Pivot Bracket
to the BLM .
7 Fit the covers. See Section 4.3 - Fit the Covers to the P2T and
to the BLM .
