Vcontroller 3.2

Discovering a new Firebox Vclass appliance

Once the WatchGuard Vcontroller is installed on your administrative
workstation, you need to use Vcontroller to discover any new factory-
default appliance on the network. The first task at that point is assigning
a permanent IP address to interface

for use in the initial configuration.

This appliance should be connected to the same LAN segment or subnet
as your administration workstation through interface

(Private

)

, so that

the discovery process can successfully find this appliance.

When the Login dialog box first appears (following the installation),
click the

binoculars

icon to the right of the

Server/IP Name

pop-up

menu.

An informational dialog box appears.

Read the informative texts and then click

Find

to start the process.
