8.4 Replace the Engine Fuel

WARNING!

Do not smoke or vape when you handle

fuel. Fuel vapours can explode causing

serious injury or death. Keep sparks,

ﬂ ames, or hot components away from

fuel.

Fuel and vapors are very ﬂ ammable and

explosive. Fire or explosion can cause severe

burns, bodily harm, or death. Keep fuel away

from sparks, open ﬂ ame, pilot lights, heat, and

any other source of ignition.

CAUTION!

Fuel vapors are very toxic. Breathing fuel vapors

can cause irritation, illness, or unconsciousness.

Check the fuel level or add fuel to the engine

outdoors or in an area that has good air ﬂ ow.

Stop the machine.

Wait for the engine and fluids to cool.

Remove the current fuel from the engine.
Operate the machine until the fuel tank is empty or drain the
fuel tank and properly dispose of the fuel.

Add new fuel to the engine.

Add Fuel to the Engine on page 33

Carefully remove any spilled fuel, and then wait until any
remaining fuel dries.

Tighten the fuel cap.

Start the machine.

Wait five to 10 minutes for the fuel to go through the
engine.

Stop the machine.
