Maintenance, Cleaning, and Re-Calibration
9.1.
Maintenance
ATTENTION!
To increase the life of the equipment, set the calibrator to a set point of near 25°
(77°F) and allow it to reach that temperature before powering the unit Off.
The equipment described here requires minimal maintenance. All repairs must be performed only
by the manufacturer. Changing the fuse is excluded. Before changing the fuse, disconnect the
power to the portable Dry Well calibrator by removing the power cord from the electrical outlet
and the power input module.
9.2.
Cleaning
ATTENTION!
•
Cool the Dry Well Calibrator before cleaning.
• Power off and disconnect the power cord from the AC Mains supply.
• Clean the calibrator with a damp cloth.
• Ensure that the electrical connections do not get wet.
ATTENTION!
See section 11.2 "Returns” for more information about the return of the instrument.
9.2.1.
Dry Well and insert cleaning
Keep the internal well of the Calibrator and the internal bores of the inserts clean and free
from debris. Distilled water, compressed air or a dry cloth may be used. Always follow safety
protocols and wear safety glasses or shield when using compressed air.
9.2.2.
Cleaning of the fan grille
The Dry Well Calibrator has a fine mesh filter over the fan to minimize dust and debris from
entering the housing. Clean the grill regularly as the usage and environment requires.
9.2.3.
External Cleaning
Clean the outside of the Dry Well Calibrator with a damp cloth and a mild solvent-free
detergent.
9.3.
Re-calibration
The portable Dry Well Calibrator has been adjusted and tested before shipment using standard
internationally recognized quality measurement instruments.
If adjustment is needed, you may return the Dry Well Calibrator to Palmer Wahl Instruments, Inc.
Contact by following the instructions in paragraph 11.2, “Returns”.
