11.2.9 Scalloped hem – program 14

The lingerie stitch is particularly suitable as a decorative edging stitch (similar to 
lace) on lightweight fabrics.

upper thread tension dial

A higher upper thread tension is important for this stitch.

  Sew the fabric at an angle to the bias of the fabric by placing the fabric under

the presser foot so the straight stitches run along the hem and the scalloped hem
runs slightly over the folded edge of the fabric.

Please note: Every time before threading

Set the presser foot lever to the upper position.

Press the Needle Up / Needle Down button (the thread take-up lever and 
needle threader automatically move into the correct position).

Thread the upper thread taut in all positions.

Thread the lower thread taut and slowly into the silver metal slot in the 
7 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions on the black hook race until it clicks into 
place.
