Operating instructions
Satellite speaker:
1/8
Balanced outputs:
Stereo balanced line outputs suitable for linking to extra Sub/Sat systems. If using the
system in mono the left output should be linked to the right input using a short, balanced XLR-XLR cable.
2/7
Balanced inputs:
Stereo balanced line inputs suitable for input from a mixing console. If using the system
in mono, only the left input should be used and the right output linked to the left input using a short,
balanced XLR-XLR cable.
3/6
Unbalanced inputs:
Stereo, line level input via 6.35mm (
1
/
4
” jack).
4
Power LED:
This LED illuminates when the unit is switched on.
5
Subwoofer level control:
Level (volume) control for the subwoofer amplifier allowing the balance
between bass and mid/high to be adjusted.
9
Satellite output:
Speaker level signal output for connecting the right satellite mid/high speaker.
Minimum output impedance 8Ω.
10/11
Mid/High volume:
Level (volume) control for the left/right satellite loudspeakers.
Turn dial to zero before powering system on/off.
12
Satellite output:
Speaker level signal output for connecting the left satellite mid/high speaker.
Minimum output impedance 8Ω.
13
Ground lift switch:
During normal operation the switch should be in the ‘GND’ position. Should the
system suffer from a low frequency (50/60Hz) hum the switch can be moved to the ‘lift’ position.
This will disconnect the signal ground from the chassis. Do not attempt to remove the protective earth
from the incoming mains connection.
14
On/Off switch:
Mains power on/off for the system. Connections for signal input and speaker outputs
must be made before powering on the system.
15
Mains fuse:
Should the unit fail to power on remove the mains cord and check the fuse.
Replace only with T.3.15A 250V type.
16
IEC mains inlet:
Connect the system to the mains using the supplied 13A BS1363 IEC power cord.
Care should be taken to ensure the mains outlet voltage is AC 240V 50Hz.
17
Ventilation holes:
The system utilises a forced air system to keep the system cool while running under
demanding systems. All ventilation slots must be kept clear of obstruction and cleaned on regular occasions.
18
Satellite input:
Satellite input socket for speaker level signal input from the subwoofer.
Start Up
Place the subwoofer to the desired installation area and carefully turn it onto its feet.
Make sure that the power switch is set to “OFF” before you connect the speakers.
Inputs
This speaker system is to be directly connected to the line outputs of your audio mixer or keyboard etc.
A good quality cable run improves the sound quality considerably. Input cables should be short and
direct, since high frequencies may be absorbed if the cables are unnecessarily long. Also a longer
cable may lead to hum or noise problems. If long cables runs are unavoidable, you should
use balanced cables.
In order to obtain the highest sound quality, only use high quality cables for connecting the units.
The system can be connected via phono sockets or XLR plugs for line level inputs and via balanced
XLR jack sockets for microphone level inputs
Always connect the left and right channels for stereo operation. For mono operation, connect the
mono signal to the left input. Connect the left output socket via a short XLR cable to the right input.
