The STAR 1200 provides a unique first-person view of AR content through a
carefully integrated series of industry standard components.
STAR Display
The STAR 1200 utilizes a unique display system that provides a see-thru
real-world view with an augmented content overlay.
Other than a minimal intrusion of the display frame, the STAR 1200
provides a real-world view not unlike that seen through a pair of sunglasses.
A semi-transparent video content overlay can be displayed on the twin
high-resolution WVGA (852 x 480) LCD displays. Widescreen, 16:9
displays with a 31-degree field of view produce a 75-inch virtual screen as
viewed from ten feet (~3m).
By default the STAR display supports standard 2D video. Stereoscopic 3D
video support is included for side-by-side content when the appropriate
display options are selected through the on screen display.
Computer Connection
The STAR 1200 and the provided VGA Controller are designed for use
with a Windows based PC, including Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7,
both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
Note
A STAR 1200 may work with other operating systems such as a Mac or Linux but
some functionality may be limited. These alternate operating systems are not
