Annex: STS 40nn and STS 10nn with clamping system
Proper status of coupling has to be checked before every loading and every transport.
Separating of wagons is strictly forbidden.
It is strictly forbidden to rearrange the wagon arrangements of STS transport units with
clamping system.
It has to be used as given by the wagon holder. Intermediate wagons are
not
allowed.
Surfaces of bottom and top plastic inlays of the clamping rack have to be cleaned and
degreased from lubricants before rails are loaded.
STS transport units are ideally loaded with fully allowed capacity in each layer.
Different from standard STS transport-units lubrication must be used and guaranteed on
rail heads
under every STS rack and each layer,
as well as 15 cm to the right and left of
this area.
STS 40nn:
Mineraloil
“TECTROL TERRA Chainsaw oil“
or similar oil
with same guaranteed characteristics.
The use of grease is also permitted. (Type of grease see below)
STS 10nn:
Fuchs Plantogel 2 N
or similar grease with same guaranteed
characteristics
No lubrication on clamping system!
ATTENTION: Do not grease or oil all STS racks and rail heads on the wagon with the
clamping system.
Before using the clamping system, approx. 1 m in front of and behind the clamping system,
the rail package has to tighten together with lashing straps in accordance with the
UIC
Loading Guidelines, Volume 2, Chapter 0.6 - Loading Information, Disposable Binder for
Cargo Securing.
No clamping on more than
one wagon
per rail package
STS 40nn:
It is strictly forbidden to carry more than one rail package.
Clamping on wagon No 3 by both installed clamping systems
STS 10nn:
60 m rails:
Clamping on Wagon No 3 (rail package no 1)
and
on
wagon No 5 (rail package No 2)
120 m rails:
Clamping on Wagon No 3 by both installed
Clamping systems
The rail support arms and the clamping bar of none actively used clamping system
must rest in the rest holders!
Proper function and status must be checked before every train movement.
