d) Parameters of the Charging Programmes
1. Rechargeable battery chemistry („BATT-TYPE“)
According to the voltage of the inserted rechargeable battery, the rechargeable battery chemistry NiMH/Cd or NiZn
mode is suggested. E.g. at deep discharged NiZn rechargeable batteries, the rechargeable battery chemistry may
need to be chosen manually and confirmed with „OK“.
Separate selection for the left (S1/S3/S5/S7) and right (S2/S4/S6/S8) charging chutes is possible.
Observe that the left and right charging chutes respectively must only contain rechargeable batteries of the
same rechargeable battery chemistry. This selection now applies for the other rechargeable batteries in the
charging chutes on the same side. A change is only possible if all rechargeable batteries on the same side
have been removed first.
2. Programmes („PROGRAM“)
„RECHARGE“ (RCH) = Recharge: The rechargeable battery is charged.
„DISCHARGE“ (DIS)
= Discharge: The inserted rechargeable battery is only discharged. There is no mainte-
nance charge.
„PROCHARGE“ (PCH) = Discharge -> charge: The inserted rechargeable battery is discharged before actual
charging to prevent a memory effect.
„CYCLE“
(CYC) = Cyclic charging: The inserted rechargeable battery is first recharged, then dischar-
ged, then finally charged again.
„ALIVE“
(ALV)
= Activate: This rechargeable battery programme is used for activating new rechar-
geable batteries and rechargeable batteries that have been stored for an extended
period of time. The rechargeable battery is recharged first. Then it is discharged and
charged twice.
„MAXIMIZE“
(MAX) = Maximise: The rechargeable battery programme charges and discharges the rechar-
geable battery until the discharge capacity no longer significantly increases. The
cooling time that can be set is inserted after the charging process (see parameter
„COOL.TIME“).
