Removal

Note

Adjustment work on timing belts should only be carried out on cold

engines, as the indicator on the tensioning element changes de‐

pending on the engine temperature.

– Remove the engine cover.
– Remove the hose between intercooler and intake connecting

flange.

– Fit Support bracket -10-222 A- as shown and support the en‐

gine in its installation position.

– Remove engine support -1- and engine console -2-.
– Remove Poly-V belt

– Remove Locking pin -T10060- from tensioning element.
– Remove mechanical distribution upper cover.
– Remove lower noise insulation from engine ⇒ Rep. Gr. 50 .
– Remove the hose between turbocharger and intercooler.
– Carefully cover or seal open ends.
– Remove vibration absorber.
– Remove centre cover of the mechanical distribution.
– Remove mechanical distribution lower cover.
– Rotate the crankshaft to TDC for cylinder 1.
