Active Processed Aggressive Sub Woofer
ENG
NOTE II:when using units with speakers of more than 8", it is best to connect the signal first to the speakers
(or their amplification systems) and then re-send the line signal from the speakers (or their
amplification systems) to the input of the Sub VS8. This means that the low frequencies will not
be cut out of the sound reproduced by the satellite speakers and the Sub VS8 is used to
reinforce the low frequencies.
5. GND LIFT:
ground separator.
Press this key to separate the ground of the inputs from that of the internal circuit.
In practice, ground separation can be useful for reducing or eliminating the buzzes and disturbance
which often occur when several devices are connected together (generally caused by “ground loops”,
differentials and interferences between ground references, etc.).
N.B.: the speaker system’s ground connection remains unchanged.
6. LEVEL:
level control.
In technical terms, this control regulates the level of the signal to be sent to
the internal processing/amplification/speaker chain.
In practice, it regulates the Sub VS8 volume.
N.B.: this control does not affect the signal of the Left and Right Outputs.
7. SIGNAL / COMP:
Red LED. Indicates the presence of a signal and tripping of
the level compressor.
When the LED is flashing, Sub VS8 is receiving an input signal.
When the LED is on
(steady light)
the signal has exceeded the safety threshold,
so the level compressor (the automatic device that guarantees the mainte-
nance of a strong signal, but without distortion) has been tripped.
N.B.: If the LED is persistently on with a steady light, the signal level is too high. The system will still
ensure that the signal is reproduced correctly; however, in these circumstances it is best to reduce the
input signal level (Level pot) and if necessary also reduce the level of the source signal (mixer, etc.).
8. ON:
Green LED. Indicates the device’s power supply status (on/off).
9. POWER:
On/Off switch.
On/Off status is indicated by the ON LED.
10. AC-IN
power supply cable connector.
The socket is fitted with a fuse in a protected compartment.
If the fuse needs changing, it is very important to proceed as follows:
Switch off the device.
Remove the power supply cable.
Access the fuse compartment by opening the cover
with a screwdriver.
Change the fuse with another of identical
characteristics (also marked on the device):
- T2A L 250V in 230 VAC version;
- T4A L 250V in 120 VAC and 100 VAC versions.
Close the cover.
