8.1
Rules for Arming and Disarming
Before proceeding with the assembly or disassembly of the pump, keep in mind that:
•
Personnel responsible for operation, maintenance, inspection and assembly must be suitably qualified and authorized.
•
The scope of responsibility and supervision of the personnel must be exactly defined by the plant operator.
•
The plant operator must ensure that the operating instructions are fully understood by the personnel.
•
In order to be eligible for the warranty period of the warranty offered by VOGT S.A., it is necessary that:
o
The instructions in this manual have been correctly followed.
o
The equipment is disassembled only by authorized personnel of our Technical Assistance Services or directly by
personnel from our factory.
•
Any modification of the equipment must be previously consulted with VOGT S.A. For safety reasons, spare parts and
accessories authorized by VOGT S.A. must be used.
•
The use of non-original spare parts exempts VOGT S.A. from any responsibility.
Before proceeding with the assembly or disassembly of the pump, make sure that:
•
The motor cannot be driven accidentally, so it should be disconnected from the mains (e.g. remove fuses, unplug, switch
off circuit breaker, etc.).
•
The pump is free of pumped fluid, flushing it internally with appropriate liquid in case it is a hazardous fluid (hot,
pollutant, flammable, etc.).
•
The pump is disconnected from suction and discharge piping and its base.
During arming or disarming of the pump:
•
Never use fire or heat to disassemble the pump.
•
Never strike the pump elements.
•
Always use suitable tools.
•
Never assemble the pump with damaged parts.
•
After a long period of operation, it is possible that the individual parts may become dismantled or disassembled with
difficulty. If necessary, use a known deoxidizer or, if possible, a suitable disassembly device. NEVER USE INAPPROPRIATE
FORCE which could damage the part, the pump or persons.
•
During assembly or disassembly consider the exploded view of the pump in section 8.4.
