6.5 Grill position (grilling with open grilling plate)
The contact grill offers a large grilling surface in this position
(Fig. 2) to prepare a great variety of snacks, e.g. shish kebab, satay,
and vegetables, which need to be roasted more slowly and more
evenly.
Note
Chicken drumsticks and other poultry meat with bones are not suitable for grilling on this
product unless they lay evenly on the grilling plates.
Warning – Risk of fire!
The upper casing of the product will be very hot. The product must therefore be placed on a
fire-proof surface when grilling with open grilling plates. The surface must be level and non-slip.
1. Place the product on a level, heat-resistant, sturdy, and non-slip surface. The feet are equipped with
non-slip covers.
2. Push the fat collection container (11) into the specified position of the contact grill.
Note
The oil and fat residue collected in the enclosed fat collection containers (11) cannot be reused.
3. Rub some cooking oil on the upper and lower grill plates (3, 15). Use only as much cooking oil on the
grill plates as is needed to coat them with a thin oil film.
4. Connect the power plug to an appropriate power outlet. The red indicator light (5) will then light up.
5. Lock the upper casing on the handle (1; Fig. 3). The upper casing must lock into the handle (1),
otherwise the grilling plate (15) will not be horizontal once it is folded open. Push and hold the
locking knob (14) and use the handle (1) to fold the upper casing toward the back (Fig. 4). The handle
serves as a support. Release the locking knob once the upper casing can be folded toward the back
(Fig. 5).
